In early 2022, ORC of the Chesapeake, LLC was formed by the Annapolis Yacht Club to facilitate the return of a Velocity Prediction Program (VPP) handicap scoring system for keel boat racing throughout the Chesapeake Bay. ORC of the Chesapeake with support from yacht clubs, U.S. Sailing and the Offshore Racing Congress has restored quality handicap sailing in the area and serves as the leadership for the ORC fleet to foster growth of ORC sailing throughout the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association (CBYRA) territory.
